I helped Dorling Kindersley launch the book Animal online through various e-marketing solutions. Each week I designed a taster page from the eight sections of the book. Using DK's comprehensive database of photographs we carefully chose the appropriate pictures to be displayed on the pages.

I wanted to create an impact so each page contained a dramatic picture. On the fish section I choose the Puffer Fish. We used bite size text in order for our users to get a quick read of the book.

   

We wanted to keep the site fun because the target audience was aimed at people from all age groups. Each button on the navigation system was made from the animals skin such as feathers, scales etc. The Fish Button was made from fish scales this created a personality for the site.

The Creative Director asked us to make the Animal site adventurous when you go to the site there are hidden places that can be clicked. Once clicked it will reveal an online collectors card we design 18 cards in total and hid them in the site. Once a user was able to collect all cards they were automatically entered in a prize draw. We also designed a series of e-cards these also helped to publicise and promote the book.
