CYCD
The aim of this web portal was to house all the projects
that BYL had produced over years, it was important to reflect the Culture,
Youth and high spirits the organisation provides to the community.
Our brief
from the Centre Manager was to create a website for CYCD which would begin
with a flash intro, words used were vision, future, success and teamwork
as they captured the essences of CYCD.
As you will
see we have used clouds and the blue sky as the main theme for the site,
after doing alot of research about CYCD they were very fond of this idea
which was evident in all their literature. Using flash we animated the
clouds to move in different directions which became the central theme
for this site.
CSSP (Crescent
Summer School Project) brings every young persons pass time activity in
one month during the Summer. We used great pictures of Youths having great
fun at pleasure parks, the pictures were taking at the right moment to
capture their enjoyment. We believe it is these photographs that will
encourage other people to participate in the Summer School.
Recently
we built a online activities form, normally each year this is a print
format and children have to come and collect it from the centres, our
idea was to get young people more involved in ICT skills. CYCD prints
alot of application forms every year by putting the activities form online
children were able to view what activities were taking place.
There are
a games on the website which we built for young people to come and play,
these were games built to help educate children. They ranged from puzzles
to matching the letter to the picture because. We believe learning should
be fun. We are always conscious who our audience are hence the reason
for the rickshaw mayhem game, a large part of people from luton are from
a Bangladeshi Origin so we built this as they would be able to associate
with it.
